Grand Opening — Haapsalu

Haapsalu in winter means a grand opening happens in the dark. Doors at six, full night by four-thirty, and every surface you hang a sign on is cold enough to fog the adhesive. Summer buys you three more hours of daylight and a town full of weekend visitors who might walk past.

The season sets the format. A winter opening is contained — inside, lit, sound turned inward. A summer one can spill onto the street, and often should. Both need power where the building provides none yet, and both need the room to look finished when the trades are still finishing it that morning.
